Selecting the Three Gunners Players to Select v Wolverhampton? FPL Team of the Week

One big decision in the Fantasy Premier League lineup of the week involves go with no City players - and yes, that includes Haaland!

The funds are needed to load up on Gunners players as they face at home one of the poorest teams in Premier League recent memory.

It's true, Manchester City scored in 5 times on their most recent away trip, but now they face Crystal Palace, who have the second-best defence in the league for goals conceded and fourth-best in terms of xGC.

And Arsenal hosting Wolves is the type of match-up you just have to attack - the leading side in the division against one lacking of form, technical ability and self-belief.

The team of the week is chosen based on current prices to fit within a £100m limit, as if you were playing a Free Hit chip.

How did Last Week's Team Do?

No captain return but high scores from Bruno Fernandes (eighteen), Ruben Dias (14), Phil Foden (twelve) and James Tarkowski (nine), along with a fortunate 16-point Dewsbury-Hall bench appearance resulted in a monster 83 points. Boom!

Fantasy Premier League Squad of the Week for Fixture 16

Keeper and Defence

Roefs, Sunderland, goalkeeper, £4.7m - Newcastle United (home)

The first derby in the Premier League for eight years is set to be noisy, fiery, combative - and it might be one of those tight games that is full of tension but little goalmouth action.

Which would make Roefs, third in the FPL goalkeeper standings, a good option.

Ben White, the Gunners, £5.2m - Wolves (h)

An Gunners defensive asset is a must this week. Wolves have just one goal on the road this season and a single goal in their past 6 matches.

White is a great offensive threat when he is given his opportunity. He started the last two games at right-back, registered a 14-point haul against the Bees and leads the way in that period among Gunners defensive players with 2 key passes, two attempts inside the area and an xGI of 0.7.

Cucurella, Chelsea, £6.2m - the Toffees (h)

The Toffees are inconsistent so this pick is focused more on the Blues'defence and the Spaniard's potential.

The London club have the fourth-best defensive record while he has created more chances (nineteen) than any other defensive player in the division.

And he hasn't scored this season, after scoring five times the previous campaign.

Diogo Dalot, United, £4.4m - the Cherries (home)

You can't have great expectations for a Manchester United shutout - they have one all season - but Bournemouthscoring have dried up in the past two games.

More importantly, Dalot has been getting in some incredibly attacking positions as a wing-back in the past 3 fixtures.

In those matches he's had 4 attempts, two clear opportunities, one goal and one assist. He missed a great opportunity at Wolverhampton on Monday night too.

Midfielders

Saka (C), Arsenal, £10.2m - Wolves (home)

This game against Wolves is too good to pass up and that makes Saka, Arsenalbest offensive asset a must-have.

Little statistical analysis required to back this up. Manchester United had 27 attempts at Wolves on Monday night, scored four and could have had twice as many.

The Gunners will be rubbing their hands.

Declan Rice, Arsenal, £7.1m - Wolverhampton (home)

Just a single point behind Fernandes in the FPL midfielder standings, Rice is so reliable for Arsenal.

With more license to attack this season, he's created more chances than any Arsenal teammate (twenty-seven) and has five assists to his name.

He's also the surest bet for minutes as the manager might view this fixture as a chance to rotate his players.

Fernandes, United, £9m - the Cherries (home)

The Portuguese playmaker may have taken over from Antoine Semenyo as the essential Fantasy Premier League midfielder.

Fixture-proof, consistently a candidate for defensive contribution points and with multiple ways to points.

Palmer, Chelsea, £10.3m - Everton (h)

This week's differential pick, Palmer has his first 90 minutes under his belt after a long layoff and we are aware what an explosive fantasy player he can be.

You get the feeling that, as quickly as he has a single strong performance, FPL managers will be flocking to bring him in.

He was absent for the Blues'Champions League loss at the Italian side, but that was the team managing his minutes so he ought to be well-rested for the Toffees.

Ouattara, Brentford, £6m - Leeds (h)

Leeds come into this match following two great home results against Chelsea and Liverpool, but on the road they have let in three goals for every one they've scored.

This is likely Ouattara last match before departing for the AFCON.

He's been superb for the Bees this season, and has five goal contributions in his last three fixtures at home.

Strikers

Igor Thiago, the Bees, £6.9m - Leeds United (h)

It's been a frustrating last few weeks for Thiago owners, with just 3 FPL points in two matches.

However, he's the second goal scorer in the league and has 7 strikes in seven fixtures at home. He's the prime forward option this week and, with a favourable run of games, you can select and hold up until the January window at the very least.

Hugo Ekitike, the Reds, £8.4m - Brighton & Hove Albion (home)

It is expected that Arne Slot keeps faith with the promising striker, after his brace haul at Leeds United.

He performed strongly at the start of the season and you can't help but think what he could have achieved had a rival striker not arrived and challenged him for playing time at centre-forward.
