The President Welcomes Families of Injured Guard Soldiers to White House

President Donald Trump revealed on the weekend that he has invited the relatives of a National Guard member fatally shot last week to come to the presidential home.

He added that he contacted her parents and they were “heartbroken”.

Information on the Tragic Incident

US army specialist Beckstrom, 20, was lost her life in a attack on Wednesday in DC.

Her colleague, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, continues receiving treatment in grave state.

Gatherings across the state have taken place in their remembrance.

White House Offer

The president said he’s talked about a visit to the White House for the loved ones of both soldiers of the West Virginia Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a tough thing, come to the White House. We’re going to honor Sarah,” Trump told the press. “And likewise with Andrew, no matter the outcome.”

Community Support

Mourners assembled over the weekend at the high school in the state to honor Sarah.

Both they had been serving with the state guard as part of the president’s federal initiative to assist policing efforts in DC.

Paying Tribute to Beckstrom

“She was the kind of student that instructors desired. She behaved with quiet strength, a bright grin and a upbeat demeanor that lifted those around her,” Hankins, the head of her former high school, informed the media. “She was sweet, compassionate and always ready to support those in need.”

Service arrangements for Beckstrom are yet to be finalized.

Legal Steps and Government Revisions

Law enforcement have charged a twenty-nine-year-old Afghan national with one count of first-degree murder and charges of violent assault while armed.

The event led the Trump administration to pause asylum processing and temporarily stop providing entry permits to possessors of passports from Afghanistan.

Status of Wolfe

Andrew Wolfe, a native of the city, enlisted in 2019 and is a graduate of his local high school, per the news agency.

He remains under medical supervision and is “in a critical fight”, West Virginia leader Patrick Morrisey stated on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

The state’s top lawyer the attorney general told the program that she aimed to visit his relatives.

Memory of Beckstrom

Sarah, from her hometown, completed her education from Webster County high school in 2023 and began her service not long after, working as a law enforcement officer with excellence, as stated by the military.

“She had a lot of goodness and she definitely had fortitude,” he told the crowd at the service. “Though her time lasted far too short, she has made an impact that’s going to be remembered always.”
